Sjoerd Wolthers Appointed Chief Technology Officer

We are pleased to announce that Sjoerd Wolthers has been appointed as our new Chief Technology Officer, as of 1 September 2026.

Sjoerd’s appointment follows an intensive and thorough recruitment process involving around 270 applicants and several selection rounds. Following this process, the RIPE NCC Leadership found Sjoerd to be the best match for the RIPE NCC.

Sjoerd began his leadership career in 2004 at KPN, and he has fulfilled the CTO role at XS4ALL and FD Mediagroup. Over the last year, Sjoerd has worked as interim CTO for the RIPE NCC, giving him a strong understanding of what is expected from the role.

We wish Sjoerd every success as he continues his work with the RIPE NCC in leading the Technology division.
